Another interesting steel installation for the Hooka team this week, working alongside Luke at New Malden.
Access was tight at 1.2 metres wide and once the machine had wriggled into site, towing the steels behind it, there were two 500+ Kg Box Frame top beams to install.
The first lift required some creative use of the team’s ramps to build an operational lifting platform over the void that had been left by the oversite preparations. With the first beam safely lifted and bolted up, it was onto the second beam which required the machine to pick up and ‘slew-feed’ the beam under hook into the ‘corridor’ Luke’s team had created under the needles between the Acrowprops. Once the beam had been successfully centralised in the knock-through area the Hooka crane switched to its Up & Under lifter to feed it smoothly and safely up onto the pre-fitted columns.
