Refurbishing Steps in Trafalgar Square with the Hooka Mini Tracked Crawler Crane Handler

Continuing the varied Industry theme, another regular customer – DBR Stonemasons – called the team in to assist with refurbishing the steps in Trafalgar Square. A problem with water build up at the base of the main steps had created the need to install a drainage channel behind the bottom step.

On its stable, low ground pressure rubber tracked base, the Hooka mini tracked crawler crane handler was able to move around the restricted work area without causing any damage to the existing paving.

Equipped with a vacuum ‘stone magnet’ the Hooka was used to safely extract the 150kg step sections and transport them to be stored away from the work area – so the groundworks team could install the drainage channels. Once the channels had been fitted, the Hooka then replaced the steps into their precise required positions.
