Interesting job this week helping out another Industry sector, where the Hooka mini tracked crawler crane handler’s ability to unload a delivery vehicle, transport a payload into a restricted access site and lift it into position all in one visit came to the fore.
PSS Power Networks needed to carry out some works on a small Electrical sub-station located down an alleyway behind some houses. The Hooka was able to squeeze down the 1.8 metre alleyway and make the 90° turns to deliver the various payloads smoothly into site.
Starting with some bulk bags of gravel to create the sub-base, the next job was to carry in the pre-cast 800Kg concrete plinth for the electrical switchgear, before finally transporting and installing the 300+ Kg Electrical modules – enabling the complete replacement works to be safely carried out in less than 5 hours.
