It’s been a busy start to the year, working alongside Artemis on several projects. As the UK’s leading repairers of property damage (typically caused by RTA incidents), a lot of their work is on brick piers and walls at the sides of roads or entrances to properties.
By using the Hooka crane, with its compact footprint and ability to dismantle, transport and then reinstate stonework sections, they can achieve most repairs by operating ‘on pavement’ – without the need for road closures or blocking access with larger lorry cranes.
This week’s job had the combined challenges of safely removing the dislodged Pier cap with a non-damaging stone grab, before then lifting and transporting the 700Kg main brick pier that had remained intact as a ‘single piece’ teetering on top of destroyed base plinth section! Careful use of suitable spreader beams and soft strops enabled the machine to securely transport the complete brick pier to a nearby location awaiting the plinth rebuild and saving the huge cost of having to completely dismantle and rebuild the pier from scratch!
