It was a local job for the Hooka crane team this week, working alongside Steve at Sontec Electrical Services, installing a 500kg Gantry crane in a Stevenage factory. With over £250K worth of machinery already installed nearby, the Hooka’s ability to transport the two crane sections carefully into site and then erect them safely in close proximity to the existing equipment was essential to eliminate the risk of any collateral damage! First stage was to transport and erect the 350kg primary support column and hold it secure during the chem-fix process. Then it was a case of rigging the Cranes ‘swing arm’ perfectly level, using the Hooka’s Spreader beam, to ensure an accurate alignment of the two sections – for the linking shaft to be inserted and join them together.
